How do I use my lighting equipment with my canon 40d?
i'm new to lighting
i have these:

how do i trigger them without anything other than my camera?
and what mode should i shoot on?

You should just have to plug them in to a wall outlet and they will remain on, or you can put a couple of pocket wizards on them and your camera.

These should trigger your lights once connected to your camera. also, if your lights are advanced enough, they might just be able to go off when they see your camera flash.
I also suggest reading the manual.
