There is not a whole lot of a difference between a drive-in projector and a regular one. The drive in projector is stronger because it has such a longer throw (distance to the screen). It has a more powerfull bulb to illuminate the screen. Other than that, the two are very similar.

light meter on my richoh singlex tls camera wont work, any ideas to make it work?

i just got some batteries for the camera and the light meter still wont work
what is the problem?

Could be just a corrosion problem on the battery terminals. check there first.
If you mechanically inclined you could look further inside, but you need to have a handbook and lots of patience.

My recommendation is to take it to pro photo shop that does film for a tune-up/overhaul.

Whats so good about carl zeiss optics in comparison to others?

whats so good about carl zeiss optics which are included on the nokia n95 etc? how are they better compared to other cameras and phones with different optics?

they have LARGE lense apertures and multi segment coated lenses like proper camera's

Basically Carl Zeiss and Leica have been considered the best optics.

As for Image quality the LENS matters more than the MPix, for example if the camera is 5Mpix but it has a pinhole lens (like 95% of phones) its NOT the number of MPix that determines image quality its the optics and lens..

The bigger the lens the better the image going to the sensor... a good lens (such as samsung Pixon) with a 3Mpix sensor will always have a better picture than a 5mpix with a pinhole lens, when you compare images on screen you are comparing screens not images...

to really see this print image on a A4 page then see difference.

if the cameras have pinhole lenses then there is NO advantage going from 2mPix to 10Mpix you get same poor quality image just with more pixels and larger file size, thats why many camera default to 640*480 images (0.3Mpix) as the they don't show the problems of the lens..

What is the best slr camera on the market?

I am looking to buy a digital slr camera. I want a good quality, lightweight camera that produces great pictures. In your opinion, whats the best out there that is cost effective?

Olympus are known to be very light weight. 2 pounds when others can be 4-6 pounds. Canon d40 is fine. The standard level DSLRs are basically equal, just look at the features and see what you'll actually use. You can pay $7000 for a full frame 24mp camera with tether and bracketing and any mess of features. Or you can get a camera with shutter and aperture settings for $400.

You've got to ask yourself are all those neato features worth all that money?

Is the Olympus FL-36 a good digital flash for the Olympus Evolt E500 digital slr camera?

I am planning on buying an Olympus Evolt E500 with a digital flash. This is my first SLR and I don't know that much about cameras/flashes. So I was wondering, is the Olympus FL-36 a good flash to use with that camera? What features does it have that make good? And most importantly, can you use it wirelessly and will it detect when the camera will take the picture without having to use the on-camera flash? Any help is appreciated.

Yes, the flash will work well with the camera.
Wireless? I don't think so.

However, I do know that the Nikon D80 and up have wireless contolled flash, and even remote control shutter.

How do I take a good picture with an old film camera? (Kodak Retina)?

I just got the Kodak Retina Ia and I have no idea how to use it. What do the numbers of the lens mean and what do I set them to? What is that knob at the top that turns? How do I work it to get the picture that I want? I already know how to take the picture once all the settings are right, so please help me with everything else!

Looking at photos of the Retina 1a, this is what I can determine:

The f-stop settings are at the bottom of the lens barrel (3.5,5.6,8,11,16) These control the aperture. The smaller the number, the larger the aperture setting and the more light comes through the lens.

The shutter speed settings are at the top of the lens barrel. (500,250,100,50,25,10,5,2,1,B) All these refer to shutter speed. 500=1/500sec, 250=1/250sec all the way down to 1sec. B setting is Bulb, and the shutter will stay open for as long as the shutter is depressed.

The Retina 1a is a zone focussed camera, meaning you have to guess at the distance to your subject and then set the lens accordingly. The focus is set using the ring at the back of the lens barrel, marked in feet.

The knob on the right hand side is the film advance lever. The knob on the right is the rewind knob, to rewind the film back into the 35mm cassette after exposing the 35mm film roll.

The shutter button is in the front on the right side, and is threaded for a cable release.

I think the rewind button is just behind the shutter release, but you will have to experiment to verify that. The rewind button disengages the film advance mechanism to allow the film to be rewound, using the left hand knob.

Which pocket vid camera should i get?

my mom already told me she would get me a vid camera for my birthday, but she wants to get me the one i want. i was thinking of getting the flip ultra in pink (2GB)$149.99 or the flip video (1GB) $129.99 or anything else. please help me! i dont want those bulky kinds, i want the pocket sized video cams.

if you want to get one of the flips i suggest you get the flip mino from walmart or amazon.com and just type in the flip mino its only like 145$ at amazon and then at walmart its $145 to $155 and you can pick a like bonus item but one of the problems i think is the screen is so little the flip ultra are the old version and the mino does more things but you can get something with a bigger screen that has better lighting different modes about the same size, so go to like bestbuy.com walmart.com circuitcity.com target.com and pick the one you like best but it all depends on what you want to use it for.

Which variety of 120 film do I need for this camera?

I have a Zeiss Ikonta 520/2 which appears to be 6x9 format.
I currently have a roll of Ilford Super FP4 125 ASA 36 exp. Black & White film.
The spool seems to be the same size as a roll of 35mm and not to fit right in the camera.

So I was wondering what a roll of 120 film in 6x9 format would be called?

Wow - one day you will actually, maybe, manage to take some notice of some of the answers you have already to your questions.

You have 35mm film currently which as you have found out is the wrong film size.

Go to a camera shop, take the camera with you.
Ask them for 120 film and ask them nicely to show you how to load it.

120 film is 120 film - the camera itself is what determines if it is 6x6, 6x7 or 6x9, the 120 roll film is the same for all of them.
